Cristiano Ronaldo is in talks with Al Nassr about a potential move to the Arab League. This comes after Al Nassr presented him with a massive contract offer of 200 million euros per season.
However the case of the situation, the reports have been heavily scrutinized by Cristiano Ronaldo’s team. They deny the rumors and insist that Cristiano Ronaldo, the 5 time Ballon D’or winner, is focused on the World Cup.
Earlier reports from Spain claimed that Ronaldo was already transitioning to his new club.
The sports outlet claimed the deal was up to 120 million Euros but would be more attractive through sponsorship deals and advertisements.
All these reports come after the 37-year-old star went into loggerheads with his former employers at Manchester United, The Glazier family. Cristiano Ronaldo had a revealing interview with Piers Morgan about what was happening at Manchester United behind closed doors.
The 5-time Champions League winner was critical about his treatment from his former manager Erik Ten Hag. He claimed that there was no respect between the two highlighting how far the two had fallen.
Cristiano Ronaldo did admit to turning down an offer of over 350 million Euros over a period of two years.
When we take a look at the recent performances of Al Nassr, we can attest that they have not been at par with what is expected from them. They have competed at the top stage, however. This came back in the 1999-2000 season when they were present at The FIFA Club World Cup.
They played against a tough Real Madrid losing 3-1 in the game. They had a few big names on their side like Nicolas Anelka and Raul.
Al Nassr still boasts big names on their team sheet with a famous name being the Cameroon sensation Vincent Aboubakar who scored a wonderful goal in the world cup.
Al Nassr chairman Musalli Almuammar did mention that he would be excited to see a player of such a profile as Cristiano Ronaldo playing in their league.
Manchester United let out a statement earlier last month stating that Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United had terminated his contract by mutual consent. This clearly meant that he would not be compensated by the club.
The reports of him joining either Chelsea or Bayern Munich have been disregarded by their top board members. Bayern’s CEO has mentioned it claiming that Bayern has no place for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Moving on to the Saudi League with the current offer would make Cristiano Ronaldo the top most paid athlete ever. This would earn him a staggering 600 million euros over a 3-year contract.
The Portugal forward is now focused on his international duty in Qatar. So far he has managed to score only one goal in the competition. Cristiano Ronaldo has come under heavy scrutiny for his performances in the World Cup.
We only wait to see how far he will captain his team into the tournament.
